In 2003, Cisco Pinedo purchased six factory buildings set on five acres of property near the corner of Western and Slauson. Cisco, who immigrated from Mexico at the age of 13, got his start working at an upholstery shop after school to supplement family income. Over time Cisco's talent afforded him the opportunity to take on greater challenges. He branched out into furniture design and as his vision grew, so did his clientele.

Cisco is now a world renowned furniture designer, and has launched one of the first green furniture manufacturing companies in the United States. His conversion of 2 derelict warehouses on the lot won him the AIA National Institute Honor as well as the prestigious Rudy Bruner Silver Medal Award and helped spark the redevelopment of the surrounding area. The transition of LADC into "LADC Studios," facilitated by Lisa Dietrich and Allen Sovory II in 2010, is but another expansion of Cisco's original intention for his one of a kind complex.
